The short version
We collect what you type into the submit form, plus your general location from your browser to guess your province. Your email is never shown publicly. We don't sell your data or use it for ads. Payments go straight through Stripe, we never see your card.
What we collect
When you submit a listing: the title, link, description, category, your bid amount, and your email. We also use your browser's general location to guess your province, we don't store your exact IP address. Nothing else is required, there's no account, so there's no password or profile to store.
Your email
It's never shown on the site or shared with other users. We use it to reach you about your own listing, that's it. We don't send marketing email unless you separately opt in somewhere, and today we don't send any at all beyond confirming your listing went live.
Payments
All payment happens on Stripe's side. We never see or store your card number. Stripe shares back what we need to confirm your payment went through and to prevent fraud, nothing more.
Who else sees your data
A short list of services keep MapleBid running: Stripe for payments, Supabase to store listings, Resend to send you confirmation emails, and Vercel to host the site. We use Umami and Vercel Analytics for overall traffic numbers, both are privacy friendly and don't track you individually across other sites. None of them get your data for their own purposes, they process it only to help run MapleBid.
How long we keep it
As long as your listing is live, plus a reasonable window after in case of a payment dispute. Want your listing and data gone sooner? Reach out and we'll take care of it.
Your rights
You can ask us what we have on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Since your email is how we'd verify it's really you, reach out from the same email you used to submit your listing.
Changes
We may update this policy as MapleBid changes. If you keep using the site after an update, that means you're fine with the new version.
